Randoms

Well, the Memorial Cup finished up the round robin portion of the tournament. Kelowna has already punched their ticket to the championship game. Good for them! I'd like to see the WHL champ win the cup for the third year in a row. Rimouski and Windsor play tomorrow with the winner meeting Drummondville in the semis. I know Windsor tripped up in the first two games but they are still dangerous. I followed the OHL fairly well this past season and I must say they are as dangerous a team as there is. I'll even go as far to predict that they will beat both Rimouski and Drummondville and meet Kelowna in the championship. So go get 'em, Kelowna. I just wish you'd get a different jersey. That 'thing' on the jersey reminds me of something I saw in the movie 'Labyrinth'.

I also saw that Kyle Beach signed with the Chicago Blackhawks, and that was not going to escape my target line. This begs the question: Who do you want to see Kyle Beach fight first in the NHL? There are so many players that would destroy Beach that the possibilities are almost endless. I just hope I get to see it. Too bad Chris Bruton isn't in the NHL. Bruton's one punch crush was absolutely epic! Take my advice: If you're ever having a bad day, just head to you tube and look up 'Chris Bruton vs. Kyle Beach' . I'm sure it will brighten your day.

King of the 'W'

I honestly didn't think that Kelowna stood much of a chance against Calgary in the WHL finals. With the way they were playing I figured Calgary would take the series in five or six games. I was proved wrong over the weekend when the Kelowna Rockets beat the Calgary Hitmen in overtime to win the series 4-2 to advance to the Memorial Cup. Looking back on it I should be surprised. Kelowna was playing as good or better than anyone down the stretch. Plus, they did knock out Tri-City in the second round. Can't hate them for that.

Kelowna will be joined in the Memorial Cup by the Windsor Spitfires from the OHL. Windsor knocked out Brampton in five games to claim the OHL crown. The Rimouski Oceanic are hosting the tournament, so they're in. The last spot will go to either Drummondville or Shawinigan from the QMJHL. They are tied 3-3 with game 7 Monday night. I don't really follow the QMJHL much, but Windsor looked great all year. This ought to be a good tournament.

I will be pulling for Kelowna to win the Cup. The WHL has won it the last two years, and as long as it's not Tri-City I want the WHL to represent. So good luck Rockets, and do the WHL proud!
