Enjoying Summer

It's been awhile since I've posted. Summer has been busy but unlike the difficulties I endured the first part of this year the last couple of months have been fun. Even though I'm passionate about hockey Summer is my favorite season of the year. It involves spending more time with family and friends, getting outside as much as possible, barbecuing often, and catching up on every single episode of 'Burn Notice'.

The drafts came and went. I cringed when Levko Koper was drafted to the same team as Evander Kane. Two of my Saginaw Spirit players also went to Atlanta (Defensemen Cody Sol and Goalie Eddy Pasquale). If I can get over hating Kane syndrome the Thrashers might me one of my favorite teams to watch. HKS = Hating Kane Syndrome. Many people have it. The Chiefs also added a new player from the Czech. Republic. All I'm saying is if the Czech. hockey federation pulls the same stunt they did with Ondrej Roman I am getting on a plane, flying to the Czech. Republic, and personally beating the crap out of somebody.

One thing that has been a pleasant surprise this Summer is that the Mariners have not sucked. In fact, they have been......good. I just recently made my annual Summer trip to Seattle to see them play the Rangers. Go figure. The Mariners take 3 out of 4 from the Rangers and I was at the one game they lost. If the Mariners keep up the good play they might make a run at.......

PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?!? DON'T TALK ABOUT PLAYOFFS!! PLAYOFFS?!?

Whether they get that far or not it's nice to see them playing well again. I also enjoy the atmosphere that Safeco field provides. Can't go wrong with baseball, friends, hot dogs, beer, and garlic fries. If you enjoy watching baseball at all I highly recommend seeing a game at Safeco. Definitely a fun atmosphere. The top picture was taken from the beer garden. Not a bad view.

Now if they can only get garlic fries for Spokane Indians games....
