Sorry about the lack of posts lately. As always, things are pretty busy around the Holiday season. Also, the Spokane area has been hit with so many snow storms over the last few weeks I have actually lost count (by the way, it's snowing again as I type this). And to top it all, the Chiefs have lost their last three games including a 6-1 beating at the hands of Tri-City on New Year's Eve that has left me a little bummed. Anyway, it's a new year and time to get the ball rolling again!
The next game for the Chiefs is home on Wednesday night against the Chilliwack Bruins, and some of the familiar faces will be back in Spokane jerseys. Drayson Bowman, Mitch Wahl, and Tyler Johnson will be back from Team USA as they wrapped up their part in the World Juniors. Blake Gal will also be back from Team Pacific in which he participated in the U-17 World Hockey Challenge. Dustin Tokarski is still representing Team Canada as the play for the gold in the World Juniors on Monday night against Sweden. If he's not back by Wednesday he will be here on Saturday for the game against Everett.
As of right now I am also on Ondrej Roman watch. The Czech Republic has a history of letting players return to their junior teams after the World Juniors are over. I'm hoping that this holds true for Ondrej. The Chiefs MUST add him to the roster by this weekend or he won't be back at all, and that will make me really angry. Here's to hoping, and I hope for the last time: FREE ONDREJ ROMAN!!!!
